An Attitude of Gratitude for Thanksgiving

Along with most of the world, this past year has been a bit crazy. I have focused on living day to day and celebrating small things as well as big wins.

About this time of year, I like to look back through my calendar and remind myself of some of the bigger happenings. We sometimes forget all the great things that happened.

My husband and I had a wonderful visit earlier this year with his family at Pawley’s Island and are going to celebrate there again on Thanksgiving.

We got to visit my son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren Oliver and Annelise at their home in Charlottesville. This was our first visit for over a year and the first time I got to meet face to face with Annelise.

Then we went to a Shiveley family reunion in Montana. The last time we had that much family together was at our wedding 8 years ago.

Although we are still dealing with serious medical issues caused by radiation, my husband’s throat cancer is in remission. Nothing has showed up on the last CT scans which means fewer doctor visits.

Workwise, I am still enjoying working with clients both hands on and virtually with my Time Space Organization organizing business. When I think back on times when I was truly happy and experiencing joy, it was often when working with the clients that are making progress and enjoying their organizational journey.

Diane Quintana and I had a lot of big wins within our business Release, Repurpose, Reorganize. In January we released our book Filled Up and Overflowing what to do when life events, chronic disorganization, or hoarding go overboard. Then in May we released our unique deck of cards Organize Your Home 10 Minutes at a Time. We gave three virtual presentations – Vineyard John’s Creek, NAPO- NY, and NAPO – GA. We recently had a booth at the Sandy Springs Elegant Elf Marketplace where we sold our books and cards and just had a fun time as well. Keep your eye on us – we’re still going strong!

One of the other big wins of Release Repurpose Reorganize is our clutter support group. The people joining these groups work on projects large and small. We love to help them with their organizational journey. If you want help or just some accountability in organizing or downsizing a space in your home or working any other organizational plan either outside or inside your home, join Diane Quintana and me on our Clear Space For You clutter support group.
